Press Release Masonry group gets new president
Nov 02, 2011
Streetsville businessman Jack Prazeres has been named the new president of a masonry association. Prazeres, president of Mississauga's Target Masonry, has been tapped to lead Masonryworx.
It's an association of industry professionals that represents manufacturers and suppliers while also providing information about the use and benefits of brick, block and stone masonry products.
"It's an exciting time to assume the position of president of Masonryworx and I'm looking forward to continuing to promote and advocate for the strength, quality and durability of brick, block and stone building materials," said Prazeres. " Our masonry industry is at a point where there is tremendous potential to grow and it is important that we spread the word to communities about the value of building with our products, both in terms of quality of life and safety."
Prazeres has served as chair of Carassauga and president of the Portuguese Cultural Centre of Mississauga and is heavily involved with community organizations such as the Luso Canadian Charitable Society and Portuguese Support Services for Quality Living. He has also fundraised with Peel Regional Police for the Children's Diabetes Foundation and Victim Services of Peel. Last March, he was honoured for his charitable work at Community Living Mississauga's 27th annual Tribute Dinner. He also is the publisher of Senso Magazine and the Portuguese Post newspaper.
"We would like to congratulate Jack Prazeres on his new position," said Di Giovanni, past president of Masonryworx. "We're incredibly excited about what the future holds for our association and we know that Jack is the perfect fit for the position."
