The Benefits of Membership

We are the only Ontario association whose sole purpose is to promote the benefits of masonry and represent the interests of the entire masonry industry. Our members work together to ensure that the masonry wall, as a complete system, is represented and that our message is heard. Together, we work to keep the industry competitive and top-of-mind by sharing information, advocating and promoting the use of masonry, and conducting market studies in areas such as pricing, distribution and product development.

Marketing Efforts

Our goals are to focus industry-marketing efforts and raise awareness for the benefits of masonry construction among industry professionals, homebuilders and consumers.

We spread the word about the masonry industry with:

• Ongoing advertising campaigns designed to inform Canadians about the benefits of using masonry for their homes. We also support builders in their efforts to inform consumers about these benefits
• A bi-annual newsletter and a 64-page full colour magazine-style publication that is distributed to over 7,000 industry contacts, architects, engineers, government, universities, planners and specifiers
• A free listing and free logo enhancement in this publication and discounted ad rates for members

Protecting Industry Rights

MasonryWorx has been very active in protecting industry rights.  We serve on codes and standards committees, visit government officials to discuss issues, and represent our members at conferences and committees.  Our efforts have resulted in LEED standard points for masonry products, fair practices industry codes, and quick response to government legislation that could have proven harmful to industry standards or safety standards in Ontario.

Education and Information

We provide education and information to our members by:

• Conducting economic impact and benchmarking research studies and invaluable consumer and homeowner surveys
• Publishing regular newsletters with articles and information ranging from environmental aspects and energy efficiency to resale value, aesthetics, and tips on how to apply LEED points to masonry projects

Member Benefits

Mandate

To promote the use, understanding and benefits of masonry professionals, masonry products and masonry systems in the design and construction of our Ontario communities.

MasonryWorx has an active, targeted public relations initiative to educate building experts and the general public on the benefits of masonry; providing articles, editorial content and access to industry experts for a variety of media vehicles throughout Ontario and beyond.

We also meet with provincial and municipal representatives who are involved in legislative and regulatory changes to discuss the advantages of masonry – addressing issues such as life cycle costing, environmental benefits, safety and more.
